Need medication?
Prescription for medication is given by family doctors (see above). All pharmacies provide medication for Ukrainians on prescription from the family doctors.
What care can be provided?
The government has determined that currently all health care providers can deliver care and medication, as included in the basic insurance for Ukrainian refugees. Refugees do not pay anything for this. More information about care and payment, also in Ukrainian: zorgverzekeringslijn.nl/ukrainian
Psychological help
As a result of the war, refugees might experience a lot of stress, restlessness, worry and sadness. Unfortunately, it is not possible to free you from those feelings. What can help is to find each other, talk about it and support each other. Seeking distraction in, for example, exercise and doing activities can also help and do relaxation exercises. If that does not work and psychological complaints continue, psychological help is available:
Social work through Participation
For conversation or questions about psychological complaints, well-being, etc.
Social team and youth care
Guidance in multi problem cases and domestic violence.
World psychologists
There is also information in Ukrainian on the website World psychologists.
The World Psychologists Foundation offers free mental health care through (video) calling. Sign up via: wereldpsychologen@gmail.com.
Serious psychological and psychiatric complaints and/or in need of medication?
Do you have serious long-term psychological complaints or psychiatric problems? Or do you need (repeated) medication for psychological complaints or psychiatric disorders? Then contact your doctor.

Dental Care
Dental care is reimbursed for children under the basic insurance. This can therefore be reimbursed to dentists via the CAK. Dental care for adults is not included in the basic healthcare package and dentists cannot receive reimbursement through the CAK.
For children you can contact your own dentist. This is also possible for adults, but then your dentist will either have to be willing to treat you for free, or they will charge a fee.
A number of dentists in Aalsmeer have signed up to provide essential treatments for adults with severe acute pain free of charge, if they do not have insurance or the means to pay for dental care themselves.

Youth Health Care
If a child is ill, or in case of urgent concerns and questions about infants and young children -> Medical care through family doctors (see above). The Dutch Youth Health Care, JGZ (Jeugdgezondheidszorg) provides vaccinations and monitors the growth, health and development of children from pregnancy to age 23. The JGZ implements the National Vaccination Program, including the 22-week shot for pregnant women against whooping cough.
The JGZ can help Ukrainian refugees with:
- Questions about nutrition, sleep and parenting
- Concerns about their child's growth and development. Children can also be measured and weighed.
- Vaccinations: The JGZ provides information about vaccination campaigns and can administer vaccinations. The JGZ has looked into the regular vaccination program of Ukraine and based on this, can continue the vaccination schedule of Ukrainian children in the Netherlands.
For now, this is mainly meant for refugees with children aged from 0 to 2 years old.
For appointments please call: (020) 555 59 64; available from Monday to Friday, between 08.00 AM to 05.00 PM.
Address in Aalsmeer and Kudelstaart: Drie Kolommenplein 1E, Aalsmeer.
Corona Care
Tests in the event of symptoms
Symptoms such as a cold, sore throat, coughing, sneezing, fever or no smell or taste? Take a corona test! Corona tests are available at the hotels and can be picked up for free.
Quarantine in case of infection
People infected with corona must go into quarantine. If the family is staying in one room, the whole family must be quarantined. Quarantine should last until the person has been symptom-free for 24 hours and at least 5 days.
Vaccination against corona
Vaccinate: people may walk in for vaccinations without an appointment at the RAI building in Amsterdam and Bovenkerkerweg 6 Amstelveen.
Hygiene measures
Basic measures to prevent spreading: wash hands, sneeze or cough into elbow.
Care for pregnant women
Pregnancy counselling in the Netherlands is provided by midwives. If you are pregnant, register with a midwife near your place of residence.
Work
Are you from Ukraine and looking for work? Werkplein AA provides advice and support in the areas of work and education. Please email: robota@amstelveen.nl for an appointment.
