Moving or leaving
When you move to or within Aalsmeer, you need to report that you are moving. You should also report when you leave Aalsmeer to a foreign country. Both of these updates can be reported online.
When you move or you temporarily leave Aalsmeer or the Netherlands (for example for a trip) there are a few things you need to take into account. You can find out more about it on this page.
Temporary departures
If you plan to temporarily leave the Netherlands (to Ukraine or elsewhere abroad), this may have consequences for your place in the shelter facility. According to the Ukraine Temporary Protection Directive, you may stay abroad for up to 14 days while maintaining your shelter facility. According to the house rules of the municipal shelter facilities, a bed will be released if you are absent for more than seven days without consulting with the municipality. For coordination and consultation, please email oekraine@aalsmeer.nl.
In Aalsmeer, we apply the following rules as far as the permitted holiday duration is concerned:
- You are allowed to leave for a maximum of 14 consecutive days while retaining your shelter facility.
- The condition, however, is that you report your absence to the municipality. You must let the municipality know how long you will be absent, in which country and city you will be staying and when you will be returning.
- You report to the municipality when you have returned.
- If you leave without reporting your absence, the abovementioned seven-day period will apply. The bed can be released on day eight after departure.
